Emirates has a few limitations as to what can be done with multi continent itineraries. You do need to keep in mind:

If you are visiting Europe and the Americas, your flight across the Atlantic must be between Milan or Athens and New York;
When you visit the Maldives, you also need to stop in Singapore and Sri Lanka due to flight schedules;
Travel between Australia and the Americas needs to go via Dubai. If you are then flying to South America or the East Coast of the USA that’s great. Unfortunately, it does make the trip to the West Coast of the USA a very long journey.
