As we eagerly await Oman Air’s official entry into the Oneworld alliance in 2025, the airline has established an early partnership with Qantas in the meantime.
It means that Qantas Frequent Flyer members can now use their points to book reward seats with Oman Air. This partnership will expand the number of reward seats available, making it more likely to find the flights you’re after. You’ll also have access to more destinations and the opportunity to experience a world-class airline at a fraction of the cost.
Currently, you can book Oman Air economy and business class reward seats through the Qantas website. And starting in early 2025, you’ll also be able to book Business Studio seats with your points. For those unfamiliar with Oman Air’s Business Studio, it is their retired first-class seating, combined with their business class service and inclusions – a real bargain if you’re lucky enough to snag yourself a reward seat in this category.
Oman Air does not currently fly directly to or from Australia, but they connect easily with Qantas and Jetstar flights through places like Phuket, Manila, Jakarta, Bangkok, Delhi, and Bangalore. To give you an indication on what reward seats would look like, if you’re booking business class from Sydney to Milan (via Bangkok and Muscat), you’ll need 381,600 points for a round-trip, plus the additional cash component which covers taxes, fees and carrier charges.
PRO TIP: Oman makes for an amazing stopover destination—beautiful, diverse, and well worth exploring if you have the time. You can also use your Qantas Frequent Flyer points to book hotels across Oman via Qantas Hotels.
